Despite the harsh winter conditions hindering the progress of building the footings, columns, and basement level lift shaft and slab, we were elated to finally move above the ground level and construct a spacious basement with a sizable 400mm thick suspended slab. The ground level construction involved building off form walls and various structures, all with a symmetrical sheet layout and tie rod hole patterns to achieve uniformity and neatness.

As always, we utilised premium quality materials, opting for Australian materials as much as possible, to create a stunning two-story central wall, suspended garden beds, lift shaft, skylight well, and BBQ area structure.

Services provided on this project include:

  • Excavations and spoil removal
  • Footings for basement columns
  • Construction of columns with smooth finish using form liners, lift shaft and walls including steel fixing and concrete placement
  • Ground level suspended slab formwork, steel fixing and concrete supply, placement and finishing
  • Lift shaft x3 levels including formwork, steel fixing, concrete supply, placement and vibration, stripping of formwork and concrete detailing
  • Off form in situ concrete walls of around 900m² including some at 7m high down to 500mm high nib walls
  • Various other concrete structures including light well shaft, suspended concrete garden beds, concrete BBQ area walls and roof with recessed rock garden and landscape walls.

This was an amazing project with many challenges which we loved navigating through, giving us a great sense of satisfaction.
